Any traveler to Philadelphia should make a stop at the Independence Visitor Center, the primary visitor center for the Philadelphia area.  Here you’ll find information and pamphlets regarding nearly any attraction, event, and restaurant in the city.  Heck, the way this here website is organized was inspired by the way the brochures in the back of the IVC was organized.

Located between Market and Arch along 6th Street, the Visitor Center is across the street from the Liberty Bell Center, National Constitution Center, and the National Museum of American Jewish History.  It is also one block from Independence Hall, putting it at an extremely convenient location.  Most of the amenities are closer to the Arch Street entrances.  Water and snacks can be bought here, as well as small souvenirs.  There is a small statue of Rocky, one of the universal symbols of Philadelphia.

Perhaps most importantly, you’ll find tickets for Independence Hall here, which are on a first come-first serve basis.  That being said, if you want these tickets in person, arriving here early is vital.  You can also order tickets online in advance, and you can pick them up here.  The lines for tickets can be long, so either order online or be at the IVC at 8:30.
